Female Networks of Knowledge - International Conference

Natural history between private and public spaces. How have women shaped scientific knowledge? Looking at historical case studies, we aim to foster future women research especially in NHMs.

The conference explores how women shaped science via networks crossing domestic and institutional spaces, like NHMs. Focusing on early modern figures and 19th-century disciplinary differentiation, it highlights diverse knowledge exchanges like salons, scientific associations, and museums.

The Conference will be held in English.

International & interdisciplinary conference on women, science and museums organized by the Natural History Museum Vienna, Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and the WOMNH Network.

Please print out your registration confirmation email and bring it with you. You will need to present this printout at the museum entrance (Maria-Theresien-Platz) to gain admission.
