Welcome to the museum
The NHM Vienna is a big building with many halls and thousands of exciting objects. In this welcome tour we get to know the museum and pay a visit to animals, bones, and rocks. We hear about the many departments of the museum and realize that this place is so much more than just a collection of things from nature. It is a place where we can marvel, learn, and discuss. And hopefully it will be somewhere we want to come back to.

Microtheater
Using high-quality microscopes and video cameras, tiny living organisms are projected onto a large cinema screen.
The main actors in our movie are the living animals and plants themselves. Experienced biologists are on hand to explain and comment on their sometimes surprising behavior. More direct and emotional than even the best natural history documentaries, this live show introduces viewers to the secrets of the fascinating micro-world that is all around us.
